Bal Sanderson
Chartered Psychologist
Bal Sanderson is a HCPC‑registered and BPS‑chartered Psychologist with extensive experience working with adults across mental health, secure, community, and private practice settings. Her work focuses on providing high quality psychological assessment and therapy for individuals presenting with complex emotional, cognitive, and relational difficulties, approached through a trauma‑informed and integrative framework.
Alongside Expert Witness assessment work, Bal offers integrative psychological therapy for adults experiencing mental health difficulties, emotional dysregulation, personality‑related patterns, trauma, interpersonal difficulties, and challenges linked to identity and self‑concept. Her therapeutic approach draws on Schema Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), working collaboratively to support meaningful and sustainable change.
Another aspect of Bal’s practice involves conducting comprehensive cognitive assessments with adults, including the administration and interpretation of the WAIS‑IV. She regularly assesses intellectual functioning and cognitive strengths and difficulties to support understanding and practical recommendations across therapeutic, medico‑legal, and occupational contexts. Her assessment work is clinically grounded, reflective, and carefully tailored to the individual, with particular sensitivity to neurodivergence, developmental experiences, and the impact of trauma.
Bal is also a certified yoga teacher and delivers yoga and wellbeing programmes across prison settings, community services, and corporate environments. Where appropriate, mindfulness, breathwork, and body‑based practices are integrated into psychological work to support emotional regulation, grounding, and resilience, offering a holistic approach to wellbeing.
